Magnum Digital Lock System: Installation Guide & Performance Review

Magnum Digital Lock System: Installation Guide & Performance Review

Five years ago, a digital lock on a residential door was a technology statement. Today it is an expectation. Buyers in projects by Lodha, Kalpataru, and Godrej expect keyless entry as standard. For architects, this creates a specification requirement that sits at the intersection of security and design.

The Magnum Digital Lock Range

8051FL — Fingerprint + PIN + Card

The 8051FL combines three access methods — fingerprint biometric, PIN code, and RFID card — in a single unit finished to match Magnum's brass hardware range. The fingerprint reader stores up to 100 prints and responds in under 0.5 seconds.

Access methods:  Fingerprint, 4–8 digit PIN, RFID card, mechanical key override

Fingerprint capacity:  100 fingerprints

Response time:  < 0.5 seconds

Battery life:  12 months typical

Finish options:  Matte black, satin gold, brushed stainless

8201FL — Smart Lock with App Control

The 8201FL adds remote access via smartphone app — allowing homeowners to grant temporary access, check entry history, and lock or unlock remotely. Ideal for managing domestic staff, guests, and deliveries.

Connectivity:  Wi-Fi + Bluetooth

Temporary access:  Time-limited PINs — ideal for domestic staff, guests, deliveries

Entry log:  Last 200 entries with timestamp

8068HL — Hotel Lock Series

Designed specifically for hospitality. RFID card access with master key hierarchy, DND/MUR indicator, and audit trail. Tested to 500,000 card swipe cycles.

"The question architects ask us is not whether the lock works — it is whether the lock looks like it belongs. On both counts, Magnum is the answer."
